These mini pizzas are sort of what I expected based on the picture on the box. A doughy crust with rather plain toppings (cheese and sauce).
However, there was even more dough and less toppings than I anticipated and the dough has a bagel-like taste and texture. My guess is that both the size and taste of these pizzas is designed to appeal to kids.
Normally I’d suggest dressing these pizzas up with some toppings, such as pesto or kalamata olives, and serving them as appetizers. However, in this case, I don’t think it’s worth the effort. These mini pizzas are certainly edible and filling, but there are many better pizza choices at Trader Joe’s. Especially if you’re over 10 years old.
