Quinoa Dolmas (vegan)

These arrived at my store a few months ago right next to the usual rice filled dolmas. I assume they’re meant to appeal to folks who are avoiding white rice in favor of higher protein grains.

These aren’t terrible and I swear I feel better after eating these than the white rice version but the texture isn’t pleasant. They’re loosely packed compared to the rice version which makes them a bit squishy to bite into yet they’re gritty due to the hard bits of quinoa.

I’m rating these at 2 pineapples out of 4 in part because they take some getting used to and I’m unlikely to serve these to friends and family unless I know they’re the type to appreciate quinoa.

I agree 100% I got these by mistake. I like quinoa, but didn’t expect it in dolmades. Call me a purist. I can hear Greeks everywhere laughing at this nonsense.
