Trader Joe’s Japanese Fried Rice (vegan)

japanesericeTrader Joe’s Japanese Style Fried Rice is a satisfying side dish that serves as a starting point for a tasty and easy meal. 3 pineapples for this flavorful rice mix.

This dish is comprised of a rice base with a small amount of edamame, carrot and tofu and a savory sauce. The shredded tofu gives the impression of fried egg. I wasn’t crazy about the texture of this at first, but have warmed up to it. The color is a bit unexpected as small flakes of seaweed give the cooked dish a grayish-brown hue. However, the appetizing flavor more than makes up for the appearance.

This rice mix cooks quickly (less than 5 minutes) on the stove top. Serve with stir fried broccoli, bok choy or a vegetable mix and one of Trader Joe’s asian-style appetizers, such as Vegetable Egg Rolls or Vegetable Bird’s Nests for a complete meal.
