Trader Joe’s Asparagus Risotto

asparagusrisottolbagTrader Joe’s asparagus risotto is one of my favorite items and a go-to comfort food when I’m craving something especially satisfying. Definitely a 4 pineapple rating!

Main ingredients are white rice, green asparagus, creme fraiche and parmesan cheese so this is a rich food and definitely not vegan.

Based on the serving size, Trader Joe’s must consider this a side dish, but I eat the whole bag as my entree. Yes, 600 calories is a lot for one dish, but this is so filling that I don’t need anything else (bread, salad, dessert, etc.).

If you’re not an asparagus fan, give the mushroom or butternut squash risotto a try.

We used to love your Asparagus Risotto. My sister and I bought some the other night. The packaging has changed so we almost didn’t recognize it. We got it home all excited. Well, I don’t know what you’ve done, but this is not the same product, neither in taste or look. It was not real risotto ( it is now white rice ) and it lacked the wonderful flavor we loved so much. Needless to say we were very disappointed.

Picked up some Asparagus Risotto from the West Palm Beach Florida Trader Joe’s. Was looking forward to my favorite comfort food. Haven’t had it in awhile. I was really looking forward to this heavenly concoction. The packaging has changed from green to silver. And it’s not the same. The silver dollar sized medallions of sauce are gone replaced with yellow bits. It’s rice, not risotto, and as much as I tried to work with it, it lacks the wonderful flavor of the original recipe. I am very disappointed.
